3rd row seat w/o Navigation?

The e-brochure says that the Navigation system is NOT available with the 3rd row seat. That sucks. I hope it's a typo and not true.

I also hope the 2nd row seats can recline like the Sequoia. From the pics it looks like it can. The '03 2nd row seats were not reclinable.

that seems real retarded to have no Nav system if you have the 3rd row seat. Not like they would interfere with one another.

Logically it doesn't make sense that a nav system would interfere with a 3rd row seat. But in the case of the '03 4Runner, the DVD Nav system is directly above the right rear wheel well which is probably what's conflicting with the right 3rd row seat. I agree it is still retarded! They've got to find another spot for the nav system and not close the door on those customers that want a 3rd row seat and nav. system. I've got the nav. system on mine and love it. And, I would love to have a 3rd row seat if I had a chance to change anything on my 2003.

If you look at the ebrochure from the Toyota site, there are a bunch of things you can't get with the third row seat:

Not available with Stratosphere Mica paint
Not available with moonroof
Not available with any of the JBL Synthesis 10 speaker systems
Not available with Navigation (NV)
Not available with cargo area back-up mirrors
Not available with rear air suspension
Not available with double-decker cargo system
Not available with tonneau cover

Oh, and it is not available on the Sport Edition model. So basically you can get the third row seats, but not any other option you might want.

I was out looking at 2003s this weekend and the brochure the dealer sales guy gave me was for the 2004s. Also it appears that the Toyota site is all 2004 models. So my guess is that they'll be at dealers any day now. Of course, dealers won't receive their entire inventory all at once, so choices might be slim for a while.

What is everyone else running and are you hearing any pinging in the engine.!!

I'm using regular in an 03 v8 2wd. Just finished a 300+ mile trip in the southern california desert with temps around 100 that just got me up to 1000 miles. no problems and 21.8 while varing the speed between 55 and 75 to help break the engine in.

Had the temp set at 68 and had a great trip.

I'd use premium if I were towing a load, otherwise stick with regular.

well it's nice to know that the V8s get fuel economy in the upper range. 15/19 looks a little steep, but i'm willing to overlook that. it looks like the new dodge durango will get a similar fuel economy with a 345-hp/375 lb-ft Hemi V8, which is puzzling to me because american-made cars don't normally have best fuel economy.

im totally happy with the Sport Edition 4Runner - looks like a perfect package for me to buy. dont care for the 3rd row or the navi. i say if you need the 3rd row that bad, a van is probably a way to go.

i was not impressed with the JBL system though - what are people's thoughts on this?? it's clear-sounding, but there's such a lack of bass!! doesnt it have a subwoofer?
