Did New 5th Gens Come Without Cross Bars?

My beloved '04 had two crossbars, really handy. The 2019 I just picked up doesn't have any. Is it because it's just a base model SR5...??!! WTH

My '14 Limited did not come with cross bars. But they are not hard to find. Try Fred Anderson Toyota, they do sales a few times a year.

I don't think it's tied to model-variant.
My 2021 TRD Off Road (Premium) didn't come with the cross-bars. I vaguely recall they were an option (I bought new, and tracked my build from Tahara across the Pacific).

I'm invested in the Yakima system (since 1992), so I bought new rail-clamps and continued on with my Yakima stuff. I do not miss, nor do I need, the Official 4Runner cross-bars. Perhaps Toyota made their cross-bars an option due to folks like me????

Craigslist around here often has cross-bars and roof-rails for sale (Vancouver, BC). I think some folks upgrade to aftermarket carriers or roof-top-tents, and then sell the OEM stuff. You may find your desired cross-bars when someone does this, in your area.

My 2019 ORP came with them, but they were specifically listed/optioned on the window sticker. Wife's 2024 OR did not come with them. So, I don't think they're a default item.

In post #23 of the 2019 thread linked in my signature, you'll see how I used the cross bars for cartopping a canoe, without an aftermarket system. At 63 lbs, I could also raise it myself. (Couldn't do that now, though.)

4Runner Lifestyle has a couple of options... their Alpine cross bars look decent.
FWIW. I don't work for them, nor own any stock.

factory crossbars are not standard equipment. the factory ones are OK but if you're putting anything heavy up there get some thule or LFD if you want lower profile . I've had both. thule are more versatile IMO both are great

you should see what they did on the 6th gen ...especially for the SR5
