alright so i was told that with my 93 4runner 4WD, that the front drive shaft continuously turns even when 4WD isnt egnaged, any one know any more on this matter? any info would be greatly appreciated!

The driveshaft from transfer case to the front diff, or the half shafts to the wheels?
Yes they all turn any time the front wheels are turning, as the engagement point is in the transfer case. When the 4wd is engaged, then it sends power to the front.

so everything should spin at all times? what if its on a lift should the front wheels still be spinning or does that mean the hubs are locked?

Front wheels should not spin under engine power if the 4wd isn't engaged. Or do you mean turning the wheels by hand when it's on a lift?

If you jack up one front wheel (or both) you can spin the wheel with your hands and you will notice the shaft spins also. Get some manual hubs for 70 bucks and bolt them on to prevent this. Saves unneccessary wear and tear on your CV joints and boots and also gain a little MPG.

To answer the questions for a 3rd time, yes.

Toyota set it up that way so you can shift to 4WD on the fly at just about any speed. The down side is there's a lot stuff turning up front that doesn't necessarily need to be while in 2WD. Like fishrod said, look into manual hubs if you're not happy with the stock setup.
