Any long term reviews of 5th gen shocks & springs on 4th gen?

I understand they'll bolt up with minor modification, but I am wondering about long term utility reviews from those who have done this. Specifically, I don't want to end up with a lower spring rate than I have on my 4th gen v6 and I can't seem to find credible spring rate data on the web.

The intent is not get a lift, but to simply replace my aging components that have 100k on them. I can get a full set of 5th gen take-off shocks and springs for about a hundred bucks, as opposed to five hundred for new parts from Yota.

The 5th gen 4runners are roughly 300 lbs heavier than the 4th gen so I would think the spring rate would be slightly stiffer. Should be good to go for replacement 5th gen suspension on a 4th gen.

Ive had rear 5th gen takeoffs for about a year. I wish it was stiffer. I tow a 4x8 trailer sometimes so that might have aged them faster, but ive never been as pleased as the front setup. On the Hway, the front floats over bumps but the back "dips".

it also gave the truck saggy butt even with a 3/8" spacer in the back. Granted Ive got 2.25" lift in the front.

yup. but remember my front is lifted too.
If you dont have cash to burn on suspension its better then an old xreas, but dont expect to be impressed by it.

Do the fifth gen rear shocks bolt right up? I can't recall. I am not thrilled with the Taco TRD sport rear shocks.

Been running the 5th gen Radflo 2.0 springs for a few years. No complaints from me.

Yes and no

You dont have to drill your frame as some have posted. You can cut the 5th gen bushing and it will all work. I cant remember specifics but after looking at the 5th gen bushing setup vs 4th gen, it made sense.
