Any mild trails in South Jersey

Im going to be at my beach house this weekend for Memorial day and was wondering if anyone knew of any mild trails around Ocean City. Its exit 25 off GSP for reference

you can run on the beach at the north end of brigantine island( next to A.C.) , but i think you just gotta pay for a permit( not too much money) its a wildlife reserve i used to go surf casting there in my uncles tacoma.
 
Yep, would suggest Wharton State Forest too, bring GPS, it's easy to get lost. Don't try the big mud puddles, they deeper than they look.. We just went there first time with motorcycle, (the 4runner was towing them) and it was so much fun, probably the best around NY. I don't know Jersey so well.. I probably will go again on Saturday.. Parked at Rt 206 & Quaker Bridge rd. (the northern part of the forest). It's a big forest, legal for dirtbikes, 4WD and it's free! Plenty of camping spots too.

And in between.. Only rule, if you don't fit in the trail with your truck, don't go in there..

hey man i actually work for pepsi and both the acme and superfresh happen to be my stores i work i live by long beach island though. but if you want some good trialriding head towards chatworth or warrengrove area you can ride around for hours. its probably about half hour north of oc. you can get off at exit 58 on the parkway which will be tuckerton lots of woods and trails in that area once again take your gps. becarefull alot of gamewardens running around though they wont bother you unless your drinking or destroying stuff.

Tuckerton huh, is that also located in the pine barrons, i also am in north jersey near paramus and am looking for somewhere to go this weekend a little closer than Rausch Creek. what are the trails like? Rocks, mud, sand.
 
nah not to many rocky areas in south jersey alot of mud and sand you could def. trail ride in the stafford forge which is pretty much right off the parkway. get off tuckerton exit make a left then first right take that road down and you'll go around a bend and over a small bridge you'll pretty much drive right into the forge you can fish and stuff in there to if your into that. also another place is just before you make a right onto forge road, directly across the street is a nice wide trail cant miss it there is decent trail riding through there.

would those directions be for traveling south on the parkway or north?

What's the exit number? 58? I'm prolly going to hit it up this weekend.

So a stock 4th gen should be fine? Just sandy trails through the woods?

Any hills etc? I understand there are no rocks correct?

nah no hills there are some deep mud puddles so steer clear. ummm yes its exit 58 and those direction would be if you were traveling north on the parkway from ocean city area. if your coming south on the parkway just get off 58 make right and then first right thats forge road. like i said once you turn onto forge road if you look directly behind you you'll another entrance into a set of trails known as five points , be sure to take your gps. btw the road you will be once your of the parkway will be 539 if you followed that north it would take you to warren grove there are tons of trails out there lots of fire trails and such i would reccomend a guide cause its easy to get lost out there.
 
It's been a while since I visited Wharton. I definitely will check this one out. Google maps did show a number of trails. But it does look very sandy, is it?

I think so, much of S. jersey is sandy. Any tips for driving in the sand? I will not be airing down tires.
 
yea stay light on the pedal, dont wanna be mashing the gas incase you start to dig in the most you'll probably end up using is 4hi and that just being cautious usually i roll around in 2wheel until needed.
