Any One Here have an on dash altimeter they like?

I haven't seen a barometer altimiter for cars for years. Because they're based on atmospheric pressure they have to be reset frequently as pressure changes. Most GPS units can display altitude, although the accuracy is not as great as the location, I think altitude is + or - about 100 meters.

My 1984 4Runner had one. I liked it so much I want to put one in my TE.

I've wondered why Toyota didn't include one or at least something additional in the MPG display since MPG is already displayed on the cluster.

I wonder how the gauge pod out of an L300 Mitsubishi Delica would work/look in a 4Runner? Might be a bit tricky to mount it and make it look nice.

Anyways, they came in 3-pod and 2-pod versions (I included a picture of the 3 pod one in our Delica). I believe that the 2-pod version has just the altimeter and incline-meter in it.

As I said, I use the one on my GPS. Only thing is, I've noticed it stops at 0, so for those Death Valley trips, if you want to measure how far you are below sea level, it won't work for that. :
