Dash Cam & OBD Connection

I recently installed a Pelsee dash cam that came with an OBD connection kit. This OBD connection kit does not play nice with my '24 ORP. After I park my vehicle in the garage and shut off the engine the cam continues to record. I will check the cam after a couple hours and it's still recording.

My question is to those who use an OBD connection and it works 100%.
Do you use an after market kit or a kit from one of the other cam makers. Pelsee recommends to just hard wire it which I may wind up having to do. I just like the ease of using the OBD kit.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

there are hard wire kits out there, what model do you have?

did you turn off parking mode? does it have a voltage sense so you can set it high like 12.5v so you don't kill your battery.

I have the S3 and will probably have to go with the hard wire kit because the OBD kit does not seem to work with the 4runner.
When I shut off the ignition the cam is supposed to go into parking mode after a couple minutes and it does not. It just keeps recording, I'll check the cam after a couple hours and it is still recording. Lots of vids of the wall in my garage
I have to power down the cam.
The OBD kit is a real easy hookup, but again it just doesn't work the way it should.
I was wondering if someone uses an OBD kit with the 4runner that actually works and who makes it.

the obd port is always a 12v constant , only way for that to control anything is if it communicates with the can-bus.

use a hardwire kit, the acc hook up will tell the power to switch if off and on.
ground to ground, and hot to a constant lead in your fuse box.
