Hey there, just got my first 4Runner and I'm stoked...:reddance:
1998 SR5, RR Diff Lock, 128,600 miles! Totally stock and completely unadulterated... She was babied too, the lady I bought her from wasn't even aware of the RDL, and has owned it since 2002 and 40k miles when it was traded in after a lease. She said she never off-roaded it and I believe her. Poor T4R, I plan on giving it a new life that includes plenty of off roading and mods to make it feel better about its boring life up to this point.
I'm thinking deck plate mod to get things started, followed by lift (strongly considering the Sonoran Steel 1.2A kit with the Toyota Tokico shocks instead of Bilsteins-any feedback greatly appreciated), with tires next and a roof rack whenever I come across one. Oh and the Seatbolt mod in the near future as well-I'm 6'2" and plan on camping regularly with it and am eager to be able to stretch out in the back should I need to. That should keep me busy for a bit...
In the meantime, I was wondering if there are any other members from northern Nevada, I live about 100 miles northeast of Reno on the fringe of the Black Rock Desert (home of Burning Man, the World Land Speed Record, countless au naturel Hot Springs, and tons of open space!). Tahoe isn't too far either... It'd be nice to be able to get out and about with some local fellow enthusiasts.:lookout:
