Any problems with dark tint over defroster?

For those of you who have aftermarket window tinting on the rear windows, have you had any problems with the tint screen being installed over the rear defroster wires??? (Is that how they do it?) I really like the looks of the limo tint on the rear 3 windows, but unsure if it can/should be done.

Thanks....

it can be done because it's been done on other cars. they usually use a razor blade to trace out the window. with the rear window, i suspect they'd trace it from the ouside. my uncle used to tint windows, but he doesn't have a steady hand anymore. :(

Tinting on any vehicle will not affect the rear defroster. Tint them dark... tint them light... and you'll still have defrosters that work effectively.

the only problem you may experience is if you ever need to remove the window tint off the window with the defrosters. I have heard horror stories of the window tint pulling out the wires of the defroster.

If the tinting is done right, there should be no reason to pull it off.

If you really have to, you spray it with a solution (alcohol and water? I forgot but a good friend owns a tint shop in CA) and let it sit in the sun for a couple of hours. It peels right off.

I thought they pre-cut them to your windows, at least that seems to be what all the better shops are doing and what several people I talk to had done, the razor blade way I've seen them damage way to many times and would never allow that.
