Any secrets on removing front abs wire?

I've been looking, but so far not finding information on disconnecting the abs lines for a lift install. My plan is to disconnect the lower ball joint, drop the lower control arm and remove/install the new coil overs. I just don't want to damage anything in the process.

If you are replacing the UCAs then there is no need to drop the lowers. To get the ABS harness loose it should just be a couple of clips and a plug but I can't say for sure. I haven't done mine yet but all of the videos I've seen show the uppers being replaced at that time.

Will be doing upper control arms, but want to install shock and spring( un-assembled) into the mounted "top hat", well that's the plan anyway. Don't want to play with spring compressors if I don't have to.

Oh I gotcha. All of the coil over kits I've seen come pre-assembled so I wasn't thinking about that. Another option would be to take them to a shop and have them assemble them. Good luck.

If I need to assemble them I will, it's just longer and a PITA.

No tricks. Just unplug the clip and remove the retaining bolts.

Or do it the easy way like me- buy Ebay ucas. When the uniball breaks it rips the abs wire out without any effort.

IIRC, You won’t need to completely disconnect the ABS wire to install a lift. But, 8f you go that route, it’s very straight forward. There is one bolt on the UCA, one on the upper part of the spindle, one Down near the CV and the last one at the actual sensor. It will just wiggle out. If you have almost no short-term memory, like me, snap a pic of the bracket that keeps the wire away from the CV. It will save you 5 minutes of, “how the f@#k does this go again?”.
