Any shooters in the market for a plate carrier?

You know, if the demand is high enough we should have a whole sub forum just for gun stuff but I digress.

If anyone's been looking to pick up a high quality plate carrier, this one here by Specialty Defense Systems/BAE Systems is awesome. I liked mine so much I bought a second one.

I know, right. I'm looking at one of the AR500 combo packages with plates and carrier and pouches. There is really no purpose in my life for one besides living in the DC metro area.

Of course there's a purpose. You just don't know when that's gonna be lol. Unless you're on a tight budget, I wouldn't order a PC from AR500. They use Condor made in China junk. The plates themselves are fine though

I disagree, I have one of their shellback carriers and love it the kit I got made me quite pleased. Now im just waiting to get a box to start it in for my runner

Interesting... I may pick one up if you guys are doing a group buy. I have a very light LBV IV "scout" style light MOLLE tactical vest, but it wouldn't hurt to have a second option that could be armored if need be.

I disagree, I have one of their shellback carriers and love it the kit I got made me quite pleased. Now im just waiting to get a box to start it in for my runner

Fair enough. But that's cz it's made by shellback tactical and it's the only quality piece of kit they offer (aside from their plates). The package that they offer with the Shellback Banshee is $385 and it still comes with junk pouches and an airsoft holster. Plus an 8 week lead time. Every other PC on there is rebranded Condor. Think Toyota Altezza vs Lexus IS300. Check out Condors website if you don't believe me. They've got a couple on there by Warrior Assault Systems but I don't know much about them.

HSGI is pretty awesome. I have their double taco on my MOLLE belt. But boy those MALICE clips they use are a pain in the ass.
