I drove my 1994 Toyota Extended cab for close to a year before I even realized I even HAD cup holders. They too, were located just under the AC vents, and over the radio. HA! But coming from an old Isuzu Trooper II, that didn't even have any vents, (someone removed them so that there were just the ports without the fins). That thing was bare bones. My 1994 made it feel like I had a purchased a luxury automobile. But it did seem weird to me that coffee was sitting in front of a wind tunnel to cool it off, and cool drinks in the winter were being pummeled by the heat making them sweat more than necessary.
