How do you remove radiator shroud?

So...this might sound silly but how do you remove that radiator shroud? That seems like the way to reach down and install the badge onto the grill. Do you just yank the plastic fasteners out or is there a special method?

Do not yank!

Press the middle of the fastener down about 1/8", that releases the fastener, then you can just lift it out of the shroud....

Speaking of this, why did Toyota put the radiator cap under this shroud?

Thanks for this info! Pulling or prying them out didn't seem right so I figured I'd better ask before I damaged them all.

Some folks were saying yank them out and buy replacements after you damage them, but that does not sound like a method engineered by Toyota.

I don't want the Jeremy Clarkson method of fixing things to apply to my 4runner :smash::bash:

At the price of 1.00-2.00 each, that's not the way to go!

Oh, to reset them, hold them in your hand and push the center plunger down on a hard surface to make them reset!

I put some lock tite on the brass threads so they don't get loose. I even had the chance to use my teeny tiny wrench.

removing those tabs were super easy, thanks again [MENTION=103267]Saker[/MENTION] !
