Anybody de-badged their trd-pro?

I have a white and I think the pro badging on the side looks tacky. If I. Just heat gun it and peel it will it leave any marks? I saw one guy had some issues on the trail. Any advice on if it can be done without leaving something unsightly?

Hey there, I debadged my '17 White SR5 and it's pretty straightforward, if you do a YouTube search or a thread search you should find some good info. That being said, what worked for me was:

Get a hair dryer, dental floss, and "goof off"

Heat up the badge with a hair dryer for a minute or so until you can wiggle the badge around.

Take the floss and wiggle it back and forth in a sawing motion across the back of the badge. You might have to reheat and use multiple pieces of floss. Don't try to pry the badge, just be patient and saw it with the floss all the way.

Rub or peel as much adhesive off with your fingers. Use the goof off and a rag to get the rest of the adhesive.

Once it's all removed throw a quick wax on for good measure and your good to go!

Hopefully it goes as easy as mine. There's probably 100 other ways and some might be easier, but again this worked for me and took all of 10 minutes.

I would not use Goof-Off on my paint. Car wax will take off any residue.

Thinking about pulling mine. The question for me is, when does a truck cease to be a TRD Pro? I've pulled the suspension and front bumper/fascia - all that's really left that's different is the floor mats and exterior badges.

As a lucky owner of '17 TRDP there is no way I'm debadging mine :crazy:

Goo gone works well for me. I use fishing line to cut the adhesive, goo gone to take off the glue. A bit of wax afterward.

First thing I did was remove the badges. Super easy. Just be careful that you don't chip the paint with the badge.

I used fishing line to remove the emblem and then the 3m adhesive/vinyl remover wheel. Here is a link to it. I found it cheaper somewhere else but you get the idea.
