Anybody know how to do gearing and need extra cash?

I'm sure I can do a lot of the work, just not sure if there's anything crazy involved or how to do any special adjustments. Also can't afford spending a ton of cash on labor and want to learn anyway. It's either do it myself with lockers or wait a bit, do it professionally without lockers or wait a long time and do it professionally with lockers. 86 4runner 22RE Auto. I'm in SoCal LA\ OC borderline. If anybody has the know-how and time to work with me, I can pay cash, food and drinks. I've also worked in IT for the past 15-20 years and can work some trade.

I did this a couple years ago and it wasn't that hard. I bought a 4.88. geared 8" third member off CL for $220. I found a '93 factory 4.88 ifs front(G144 code)in a pick-a-part for $120. Add in the Spartan locker I bought on Amazon for $375. I swapped my long side axle for the '93s ADD axle using a Timken axle seal(p/n:710419) I sold my original 4.10 8" back to the guy I bought the 4.88 diff off of for a $100. So all told I did a gear change and a rear locker for around ~$600
