Hello Lee, my name is Matt and I'm an alcoholic lol. oh p.s. what is the minute mod you were talking about in my throttle response thread. If its another forum I looked all over this site and found no such thing. oh and for real I drink black starbucks coffee like its going out of style hahaha. ANYWAYS...
ok... all 4runners and tacomas produced from 1996 to 2002 (for 4R) 2004 (for Taco) came with 15" rims on the base model. Since its factory suggested, they put it on you door sticker, you will also notice tire size on you door sticker is unusually small, again factory suggested. So the upgraded aluminum wheels are 16" because it looks nicer, but it's not suggested by Toyota to run them, or bigger tires, because for opitmal perfomance you'll want to run 15's and whatever their stupid tire size is.
As to my knowledge American Racing is the only wheel company that makes a 15" rim that clears the brake caliper, but in all honesty I would just go with 16 because tires are easier to find and makes absolutely no difference what-so-ever, and if go with the AR 15's that fit on the 4R you only have 1 choice in design and they're butt ugly and they only come in black or white.
