Anybody Running This Setup

well after countless days of research and thought i have come up with a lift for my 99 4Runner and i wanted to know if anyone have run the same setup, what problems if any you have run into, how everything went together, reliability etc. I am going to run a full 3" front coilover from either toytec, or wabfab, bluey fab, LC front 9 wrap coils for the rear, and top it off with a 4crawler 1.5" BL, dont want to use the BL but want the 35" claws, included is of course the extended brake lines, panhard bar, either drop bracket, or adjustable from Sonaran. I will have about 300lbs extra in the back, bumper gear misc stuff, so i thought the 9 wrap coils would be better than the 8 wrap, as long as they sab enough, i do want a little bit of a rake but nothing huge, maybe like an 1". So i am guessing if i have thought of it, than im sure a few of you have and are running it, thanks guys

I just put saw coilovers and 8 wraps on my truck, which is gonna be basically the same thing you are wanting to run. The lc coils are very soft so with 300 pounds out back they'll sag quite a bit and should be pretty level with the front. Also some people will tell you that you need ext. brake lines, panhard bar etc. but you really dont. Just bend the brake line tab down to give you an extra inch or 2 of slack, and the stock track bar works fine even with 9 wraps. Duhockey is running that in the back and has said that he hasnt encountered any major problems with it.

I think even with that setup youre gonna have to do a little hammering and trimming to make those 35"s fit without rubbing anywhere when flexed offroad.

i thought that the 300lbs extra in the back would make them sag alot so the truck would sit level, i think i might have to rethink the back load, cause i do want that little rake in the back end think it looks better, as far as the brake lines, thanks i kinda figured i didnt have to get anything extra, i didnt with my 02 taco when i lifted it 6" just some good old fab work, easy. So i dont need a panhard bar or drop bracket, i thought lifting it more than 2" you would have to move the axle back over, but knowing that you dont have to helps out alot, thanks

With that much weight in the back the 9 wraps will sag and make it level, but it will effect your driving and you won't like it. Check out some OME 861's instead of 9wraps if you are gonna have weight in the back.

I'm running basically what you are talking about. front king coilovers and 8 wraps in the rear. I did not do body lift because if you are willing to do some hammer time you are good to go. I am not running claws but 315 x 17" MTZ's. I am running the SS panhard bar and it makes a difference but it isn't huge. I don't rub and it flexes awesome. Good luck:surfer:

Hey Rockdawg84, thanks for the input, think i am for sure going to run the lc 9 wrap coils out back along with the ss bar, unfortunately i am going to have to stay off the hammer for this one so forced to use the BL , dont like them, but no other choice, not unless i use a front Taco 6" lift and some hugely fabbed out rear suspension, ill post pics when i finally get things rolling, thanks again

you dont need a big drop bracket lift to run 35's. The only thing you'll be hammering is the pinch weld in the front. Not that big of a deal, but if you want the body lift go for it. I'm sure your truck will come out sweet anyway.

Are you positive that the 861 will hold that much more weight Downpour? Steeze has them and is just a bit taller than the 8.75 lx470 coils and he has no extra weight,

Downpour is right though, 9wraps will sag under that much weight, I dont advise 9 wraps when you have that much weight in the back, I maybe have 100 or so extra pounds and am sitting about 41.5 ground to fender.

If you are really gonna have that much weight, then maybe you need to go with the 851 coils. it will be taller, but will be able to hold all the weight.

and yes, it sucks to cruise around with alot of weight on the LC coils.

Not quite. i have about 150 lbs extra. The 861's are a 220lb spring rate while the LC are 150. I am also a good 1-1.5 inches taller than the 8.5 wraps i had in there. Just because there are not much taller does not mean they will sag the same or more when loaded. the OME 890 and 891 are a perfect example of that.

I would try the 861's or the 851's if you want 5 inches of lift with the 300lbs

hey thanks guys, this gives me a little bit more to think about, maybe revisit the rear end setup, i will have the wait, no doubt about that, i just want to be able to run the 35s and sit at a little bit of a rake, just turning out a little bit more rougher than i originally thought, but i do appreciate the replies, thanks again, and keep it coming if anyone has any ideas at all, i am with out a doubt open to all ideas
