Do you use this product on just the outside of the lenses? It seems the discoloration and foggy appearance on my headlights originate from the inside.

Yes, just the outside. You don't have to take anything apart. Just some taping off around the paint or trim. I think 3M's site has a video so you can watch the process. It would seem that condesation would cause discoloration on the inside but apparently it's not much. They looked brand new just by buffing and sanding the outside.

You shouldn't need this on the 3rd gen 4runner as the headlights are actually glass! The 4th gens are plastic though.

Blue magic works like a charm too....comes in a paste/tube form. you can get it from walmart for way cheaper im thinkin....

3rd gen lenses are glass and this product won't do anything for them. If you have a foggy lens form the inside then a seal is broken and it's been getting condensation in it and does collect dirt also over time. The fix is replace the light or take it out and clean it and check where the seal is compromised. I have this problem.

Yes, they are all glass. There is a way to polish glass if it is pitted. If you have water on the inside, I would look into opening them up and resealing or getting a used light.

It helped my 93 supra, and 97 tahoe. I got the turtle wax one with small sandpaper discs in it.

Not to mention. Theres a much cheaper product out there. And you probably already have it.

For plastic lenses I like to start with the tutle wax rubbing compound. Its the girtty red stuff.

Then I go to something light such as scratch x or any polishing compound. Works beautifully.
