Anyone do their own oil changes on 2011's?

I just bought a 2011 4runner and we are loving it. I was planning on doing my own oil changes because we are 2.5 hours from the closest dealership. I was under the truck today looking things over, and was just wondering if many people do this themselves, and if its difficult? I am guessing you need to take off some belly plates. Also, this is the first oil filter i have seen of this kind. (reusable outside casing) Anything i need to know about changing the filter?
