Has anyone done the conversion of the V8 (2UZFE) engine to LPG gas? The company PRINS offers sets for this but I want to check if anyone has experience with that before spending that much money on it. If it works it should improve fuel economy by running on much cheaper LPG gas considerably! I live and drive in Europe, we pay about double the price for fuel than you guys in the US. THAT hurts with a V8!

So you're saying with a propane conversion, you are going to save fuel money? Doesn't propane "have less energy" per gallon than gas? Therefore less "fuel efficiency" or "power" ; but if it costs significantly less, I suppose you can save some money. I've only heard about using it with the old 22RE motors for rock crawling/ environmentally friendly purposes. 22RE swap?:shrug:

If you pay 1 Euro per liter = 6 USD per gallon, you will also start counting! As for me: I do have two other more fuel efficient cars, a Mercedes Benz 220 Diesel and Toyota Avensis D4D, both get at least double or triple the miles than the T4R. But I like my T4R and want to keep it. If I can get it to run on less expensive fuel, it would be the perfect ride!

My brother did this conversion on his '71 IH with the overbuilt, under-powered 345 and it made it's loud rumble into a purr...insanely quieter and he had gobs of torque at very low RPMs...the downside, well, he could only top out at 55MPH from his original 70MPH...BUT, he was able to go 1k miles on 100 gallons of propane...at the time it was like $1.23/gallon but now, especially during winter, it's upwards of $4+ per gallon...so I'm not sure where you'd have benefits over a purpose built rock crawler or mudder...
They do convert 2UZ-FE to work on LPG gas in Poland. Here is the info that might help: toyotatrucks.pl and the email: [email protected]. Need to do a google translate on this page though.

Yeah the gas is much more expensive here in EU and LPG installation might be worth doing.

Not that it matters but I/We pay 5.85 USD Gallon (Canada).
