Anyone ever do a painted to match bug shield?

I've had an EGR carbon fiber bug shield for years that has been awesome. Besides it looking badass (got compliments all over), I never got any chips on my hood. It's more for deflecting rocks than bugs, but my hood was in great shape. The guard split in half when someone backed into me, and of course EGR doesn't make this one anymore. I can get them to make it again, but I'd have to order 500, lol.

GTS has a clear one, and I've never seen anyone with it, but wondering if anyone ever painted one to match?

The other was was cool since it let the paint color shine through. I'm now getting scooped hood and want to protect the new hood.

Here's someone on our forums with a 4th Gen that paint matched their bug deflector but to be honest, I don't think I like it.

I feel like it will become ugly if you intend to use it for its job. Here’s a better idea to replicate yours. Buy carbon fiber styled vinyl and wrap it.

You could always juat paint the backside of it if it's clear.

It was a really old post, that I cannot seem to find! Post was from 2005 so not sure you'd get a response if you can find the owner.

Exactly. That's definitely what I would do.

Personally a no from me. Think it looks tacky. But just my opinion. If you do it, I agree with the above. Scotch brite the back and hit it with paint. The front will not only protect your hood, but protect the paint color.
