Anyone from Oregon?

I was just there this past summer but I didn't pay attention to how long it took to drive places. I stopped to much to sight-see :)

I plan on picking my friend up in Portland airport, then we are heading to Mt. Bachelor to go snowboarding.

How long does it take to drive that route? I've got chains in case they are required and 4WD.

Also, how long does it take to get from Portland to the nearest part of the Coastline?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info guys!

I'm amped on riding up there. It's so beautiful up there. Will be a solid test for my 4Runner indeed.

I'm in Salem and it takes a solid 3 hours to make it to Bachelor. Bend is 130 miles but Bachelor is another 20 or so past that. The easiest way would be to hit I-5 south to Salem and take 22 East to Bend.

I live in Salem as well..... small world.

I have a place just outside of Bend on the way to Mt. Bachelor (15 minutes to Bachelor) and it takes me 2 hours from garage to garage in the summer. The mileage is right at 120. Depending on the pass conditions add anywhere from .5 to 1.5 hours. It's about a 45 minute trip from the airport to Salem depending on traffic. Do the math and you're at 3.5 hours via Salem. If it were me, I'd go over the pass at Mt. Hood.

Either way enjoy Bachelor. It's a great place to ride. :bigok:

Forgot to answer the last part of the post......

Portland to the coast is roughly 80 miles. Just take 26 west (sunset highway) to Seaside. From there you can use 101 to go down the coast.
