anyone have '03 trd SC on an '04

I noticed a couple of people here have TRD superchargers on their 04's. (limmited04, JOmama...) ARE the kits you have for the '04 or for an '03.

all the SC's for all the 4.7's (lx470 gx470 tundra sequoia 4runner) are physically the same except for 1 or 2 add. injectors (1998-2002 one injector 2003+ two injectors). I know that the ECU's for the 4runner's are exactly the same wiring so they would work ('03 '04 4runner interchangeable.)

I guess the ultimate question is what part number is on your ECU,

I got the pre 2003 SC with one injector for a sequoia and can redo the wiring to make it work for my '04 runner (have all the wiring diagrams); or should I take it back, pay the difference of $900 and get an '03 4runner kit???? I can always spend $900 on an aftermarket controller for fuel and ign and tuning for more power too.

I hate this decision making crap.

what can the unichip actualy control? fuel and ign only or can it do more like line pressure in the tranny?

I actually purchased the 03 kit and put it on my '04. I have 2 ecus. the '03 w/old program and an '04 tundra double cab w/new program. the tundra ecu gives me 4 MORE mpg than stock with some knock, and the 4runner ecu gives me stock mpg with a little knock, around 80% throttle.

BTW dose your ECU have a green or orange round sticker on it with the model ie: '04 4runner? I found out there are old and revised program maps on the ecus. if the there is a sticker like i said above it is a new map.

I need to start a thread with all the info I got from doing this thing, or find somewere that already has a dedicated thread, maybe tundra forum or something.

Have you opened the ecu to see what type of chip handles the program?

actualy no not yet. I forgot to do that. but i realy need to put the colder plugs in it. I want to put the tundra ecu back in and get the extra mpg's. I will do it tomorrow.

I will tell you this, I know it changes timing, it reads throttle position, mass air flow signal, O2 sensor (bank 1 sensor1), and knock sensor #1. this meens it is iether s closed loop ecu or has data logging

I have the blower on my Taco and it is SWEET! Been on for 80K miles with NO trouble. I didn't even change the belt yet!
