Anyone have a viper 2-way alarm?

Just wondering what you think of it... i need an alarm system. Thinking of the 690xv. Don't need remote start.

Just go for a regular alarm with backup battery and a backup siren maybe. I don't see any advantage for the pager alarms over the standard ones. Heres what I think of the paging systems. The pager alarm has 3 scenarios. Scenario 1, the alarm is going off but the owner is off watching a movie so the paging feature doen't reach, returns to the stall only to see that your car got stolen. Scenario 2, the alarm goes off so the owner runs out, beats the crap outta the thief and saves the car...highly unlikely unless you are Jet Li or own a M4A1. Scenario 3, thief and his gang of thugs know the owner has a paging alarm, kicks the car and waits until the owner shows up, kick his butt, robs him, then drives off in his car using his own keys.
Just buy a good alarm system from a popular company, viper, dei, clifford, alpine...along with good insurance. If someone wants your car bad enough they'll find a way to take it.

I would like a 2 way alarm b/c from my apt I would not be able to hear my alarm go off. Whether or not I confront anyone trying to break into my car, I would like to know if my car is getting busted into.

I have the magicar fai8100 from alarmsellout.com it works great it comes with all the stuff you need to install including the wiring diagram and all the relays it has remote start included and customer support is great. I get about 1000ft range from this alarm and the 2 way feature is great to have you should check this 1 out.

I went with a compustar... I found it had way better range. The Viper I used to have in my previous car, and the range of the two way remote was flakey..

I was thinking about getting the Clifford Matrix 2.5 instead... It's basically the same as the Viper, right?

I have the Matrix 2.5 in my 04 Sport. I really like it. The only thing that really bugs me is, with the DEI alarms with 2way you only get one remote. And to get another one is 100 dollars. Other then that the range is good and I have no problems.
