Anyone have Level 8 Tracker Wheels?

Ok guys, as of right now I have 16x8 4.25" BS steelies on my rig and they weigh a ton. I am over it cause I don't see myself wheeling so hard that I would use them to the fullest potential. That being said, I am on the look out for some alloys. (Better quality and weight savings) I really like the look of the MT Classic IIIs but they cost around $133 each and I need 5.

Discount Tires Direct has some wheels called Level 8 Trackers that look identical. They are 16x8.5 with 4.5" BS and they weigh about 22lbs. The best part is they cost $109 each. I spoke to someone at America's Tire which is owned by the same company and they said they would match the price no problem. To make things better, they offer an instant $50 rebate and knock off another $60 off if I open up a credit card (offer ends January 31). So total OTD would be $435 for 5 wheels. NOT BAD!

1.) Anyone have these?

2.) Will they clear 231mm calipers?

3.) How do you like them?

I've searched and only found one member who has them, but he drives a 5th gen and his wheels are 17". I've found a guy who has them on his 1st gen Tacoma who installed them with hub rings which eliminated any vibrations (another plus).

No problem, you might also consider looking around on CL to see if you can find some, I know American Racing and Black Rock make similar wheels, and the 16x8 size is pretty popular with chevy guys too, just a thought.

Yeah, I hope they clear cause if they do I'll put these rims on the Tundra Brake Upgrade thread as one of the wheels that clear without spacers. I might have to be a guinea pig on this one unless someone who has these can chime in.

But I can't comment on the caliper clearance. They're great wheels though. Worst damage I got was on some rocks in Moab, scraped a small section of paint off revealing shiny aluminum underneath. Months later they looked the same, would have been easy to touch up but I sold that set (the 4.25's)

Awesome, how did they balance with the 285s? Did you use hub rings to make them hubcentric? Thanks.

I don't have that specific wheel, but I have a set of Level 8s in the same exact size and back space. I'm running the Strike 6 with 285s. I've had no problems balancing the tires. The backspacing and offset are perfect, I didn't have to install and spacers and I have no rubbing. And the stance is perfect IMO.

I also have the 231 brakes, and they fit with no problems. I would wager that the Trackers are the same fitment as the Strike 6s...

I say go for it, they're great wheels and DTD is an awesome place to do business with.

Thanks for the heads up. I was eyeing the strike 6 as well, they look sharp. Good to know you like them and they fit the calipers.

It is indeed. Only been up there once... I think it was October - nightmare coming down. ABS going crazy. Pretty though.

No, I didn't use adapter rings. No issues with balancing that was announced to me or noticed by me - I know there's a ton of sticky weights on the inside on one, if not all of them, but zero problems. Hell, I learned just a few weeks ago that I have a toasted inner tie rod and my steering rack bushings are also toast, and I think it drives fine even on the interstate @ 80mph.

Can't remember what mine are but they are level 8 rims. They were on the list to fit 231mm as well.
