anyone install a motor for the back lift gate?

I just took delivery of my new 2011 limited and found out the lift gate must
be closed manually by almost slamming it closed. My 08 (lease) had a motor on it that all you had to do was lower the gate almost to closed and it would close itself.

I've found it easy to close.... just gently push it down and it's fine. I don't think you need a motor unless you have trouble reaching the top of the lift gate when open... JMO. I don't know of anyone that makes an aftermarket kit.

Nobody has done this mod or probably ever will. There are way to much logistics with switches and stuff to attempt it as you would have to retrofit it from a 4th Gen. The door latches between 4th and 5th Gens and the lift gates themselves are completely different. Way too much work for so little gain.

Maybe it needs to be used a few times to loosen the latch up or something or for you to get used to it as mine latches pretty easily too.My youngest daughter who is 12 measures 4'8" and maybe weighs 90 lbs soaking wet can close it with ease and does so on a regular basis.

I had the motorized catch on my 06 4th Gen too and my kids would constantly slam it forgetting it was there. After awhile it had to be closed just right or it wouldn't catch and make this clicking/grinding sound so I wasn't a big fan of it.
