Anyone install backup lights or Whitenight kit?

I am looking for pictures of backup lights on 2003 and up 4Runners. I searched the site but no pictures really came up. I am looking at getting either the KC or whitenight kit. Also how do I go about wiring this? Thanks

Just a basic Pep Boy's $10.00 tractor light. Have 2 on the frame as well facing to the side. Back light bolted directly to a threaded hole that was in the DS frame rail.

If you look close you will notice that I relocated the plug in for the tow lights to clean up the back a bit.

Here is what I have installed. PIAA L105 Xtreme Position Lamps. They dont put off as much light as the ones you mentioned about installing, but it does brighten up the ground more than just with the reverse lights alone.

For 12v power I tapped into the trailer harness and grounded to the frame.

This was the same on '05 & '06... What year is yours? Might be different.

edit... The way they are wired they come on every time you shift into reverse.

No I dont have any pics of them at night. I'll try to get some taken sometime. I dont know if the wire color is the same on the 2003 model. You could just get a tester to make sure which wire it is when you wire them up. I'm sure those lights from cabelas will light up pretty good. That is where I got the PIAA's from.

Drilled holes to the bumper. Those lights are not very heavy at all.

The lights had 2 wires, one ground and one power. Grounded to frame and ran the power to that yellow reverse wire in the trailer harness. Very simple install.

I'll probably end up getting some that put off more light eventually but its not that big of a deal right now. When I get new ones I am going to add a switch to the install so they dont come on every time I back up.

When you do add the switch would you just tap into the yellow wire and run another wire up front?

No I figure the ones I buy will come with a relay and that involves more than just running another wire up front.

thanks!! I've been looking for an inexpensive and bright back up lamp solution!! The
PIAA 1500 ($150) and KC HiLites 26 ($100) were a bit out of my budget.

$38 shipped from Cabella's-Ordered mine today.
I'll post pic/ details after install.
