Anyone know about jetskis?

Ive lived on a lake since I was born and have riden all types of jetskis. Go with Yamaha. Dont get a stand up. They are annoying and only one person can ride. Some of the most fun Ive had on a jetski is putting 2 or 3 people on them and trying to knock each other off. Granted not the safest but fun.
With that said. Yamaha makes an amazing waverunner. Best I've used and all my friends have them.
We're buying a couple this summer and will be going with Yamaha. I think we're going to get a couple FX Cruiser SHO. They're big but we want an all around waverunner that even parents can use to just cruise the lake. But they are also FAST!

I agree with the Yamaha part. Yamaha's quality is the best with PWC and I prefer them for dirt bikes too. As far as sit-downs, imo they're fun for about 10 minutes. Even in the Caribbean a sit down is no fun for me. I'm not going to get into the stand-up vs. sit-down battle here, but it's similar to Harleys vs. crotch rockets. Whichever you choose, I recommend getting one with a racing hull. It will be on the higher end models but it makes a huge difference, especially in tidal waters.

My wife won a SeaDoo a couple of years ago. I may be a little biased as it is mine, but I like the way it handles better than the others that I have ridden. But it may just be that I am just used to the way it rides. I would say that you really can't go wrong with any of the brands mentioned though.
As for the sit down or stand up question- I'll have to agree with A10MileHusker and say to go with a sit down. Load em up, pull a tube or skier or even get a wakeboard package. Nothing like pinning it and whipping it hard to toss an unsuspecting passenger. Ha. We usually have a stand up or two around at the lake and they get used about 10 percent as much as the sit downs.

Another vote for Yamaha here. We still have a 1991 Yamaha Waverunner 3, a sit down that comfortably sits two, and it still runs great with no major issues over the years. For a long time Yamaha was one of the only brands to offer a reverse feature which can really come in handy for new or unexperienced riders. Good luck with your search.

Bombardier Sea Doo ALL THE WAY!!!
my aunt works at the plant in palm bay FL and got me a job there a few years back. i got to test drive all the new jet skiis and boats that they wanted to put on the market and when i mean tested we didnt just ride like like girls....we beat the hell out of them for 12hrs a day for a week straight and then on the 8th day drove them all the way to the bahamas and back....only had one sea doo brake down while testing and it was cuz some idiot didnt put in enough oil and wasnt paying attention to the huge flashing red light indicating it was low.
our boss used to tell us that if we broke one..like the hull or overheated the engine and things like that....he would give us a $100 right there on the spot...so like i said...we beat the SH*T out of these things trying to brake them.
SeaDoo's are by far the best PWC ive ever used and im like A10MILEHUSKER...ive lived around boats/pwc's my whole life so i know a little about them
but hell....anyone you get is gonna be sooo fun. good luck!
