anyone know anything about ball joints?

I put on a 3in toytec lift and my driver side ball joint boot was completely demolished, so i figured id replace it, which is a PITA!! but anyways i have it out now finally and know how to do the other side if i wanted to... but i dont know if its bad or not the driver one seemed pretty good still. should i replace both? or should i not fix what isnt broken?

any one know when ball joints are supposed to be changed out? i know they have atleast 40k miles on them or so.

im waiting on a dust shield for my cv axle anyways so its on jacks either way i just dont know if i want to do that side as well before the alignment but im getting if for way cheap from work so it wouldnt matter if i had to replace it in another 40k and got a second alignment.

replace the other 3...... my lower left went while driving, NOT a good time.. Im going to replace mine on the 04 at first site of any leaking, lol

yeah it's always good to replace any wear parts in pairs, but if you're on a budget, and the other one looked good, you should be fine

yeah im not looking to spend another 150 bucks per side! right after buying the lift and stuff. im gonna just watch it. id rather buy tires, and other things before i fix things that arnt broken

this is also my pleasure/weekend warrior truck i bought a toyota pickup for commuting in.
