A couple years ago we went out to Anza Borrego and it was good.

theres tons of places....depends on what you want....Sand- you can go to Imperial sand dunes. Theres Ocotillo Wells, Borrego, Lake Morena, Superstition, and on and on and on....theres trails all over that area
