Anyone know what this is...?

Picked up a 2013 LTD yesterday and I love it! Still have my 05’ but she needs some work.
Getting used to the new interior...

Came across this little thing above the rear view mirror. Can’t find anything in the manual, so I assume aftermarket.

Assumed it may be a remote start module, but can’t get it to start.
Sent the dealer a message and picture, waiting for a response from them.

So I’m just wondering if anyone wants to play “Guess the part”

My guess is Retina scanner. It looks like it scans you every time you turn the key!

Guess I’ll have to start driving with my eyes closed. [emoji6]

That's how it's done here in Maryland! I'm originally from Long Island NY and thought driving there was bad. Holy shit MD is so much worse. It's incredible how bad the drivers are here lol

Strange that whoever traded in the vehicle wouldn't have provided the remotes but I think you're correct on that assumption, remote start antenna. Mine is located in the exact same area (Viper brand) but has a blue LED on it which flashes when the vehicle is locked (programmable). Odd why those LED's are on solid.

This was the response I just received,

“ Those are sensors that light up whenever you’re getting close to something is what they’re telling me at service.”

What the hell does that mean?
Possibly they start flashing when the backup sensors activate?

Responded to him, asking if it was factory or added aftermarket.

Hmm, I do believe it's aftermarket. I'm a parts counterman for Auburn Toyota, and I can't find anything like that in either the parts catalog or the accessories guide. I even looked at a few of these rigs in our shop; none of them had that piece. Interesting...it's slow at work today; I'll keep digging for a while.

Thanks! I’m going to say 100% after market. Have yet to see it Blink/flash/change...
Only one owner on the truck and it was an older couple, so I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have added it themselves.
Additional note, there are sensors in the front and rear bumper. Look factory, but not sure if they were added possibly with this unit.

Update:
It is an aftermarket back up sensor. Reversed up close to the house today and it started lighting up and shooting numbers at me.
Seems like it may come in handy at some points, but also seems like more of a distraction.
Thanks for your time everyone.
If someone has any idea what brand it may be, let me know.
