Anyone own one yet?

They are at the processing center here on Oahu. Saw three right along the road with plates and maybe a dozen parked in the staging area.

Somebody must have one already!

I went and talked with my dealers GM yesterday(largest dealer in WI) and he had no info what so ever on pricing or anything. He said Toyota is being very tight lipped yet. He expects his first one in mid October and more inventory soon after. He is going to try and choose the one I want as his first one:)

Its funny how everyhtings listed on toyota.com yet dealers and even the GM's have less info:wow:

So your dealer still hasn't gotten one yet?

Our's must have just came in as I drove there late last week and there was none.

Not sure if there are any in our dealers yet but they are here.

I wish I was in my own car and I would have stopped and taken a pic.

We have our local Toyota advertising a big sale but it excludes the 2010 4Runner and Prius.

Guess they are not going to be discounting them a lot. Same as when the current Tacoma's came out, our local dealer only offered a minute discount citing that they are too hot to sell cheaper.

My first impression was it looks better in person. I wasn't that close though.

Kinda looks like a Photoshopped Sequoia with a little bit of Trailblazer thrown in.

They should get rid of the prius all together, and Im sure ill see one in the next few days, i got so many people round me who buy and lease new cars it aint even funny.

planned $1B sales drive

I think they plan to discount both the Prius and, I would assume, the 4Runner. See top search result for full Wall Street Journal article: Link

Toyota executives vowed to go "pedal to the metal" in the fourth quarter, using financial strength to drive sales as the U.S. economy appears to be recovering, these people said.

The $1 billion marketing and advertising plan is 30% to 40% more than Toyota typically spends in the quarter, said a person familiar with the company's operations. It includes subsidizing leases and loan rates, offering other customer incentives and helping pay for dealer ads.

I'm not surprised with the exclusion of the Pruis and 4Runner. The Prius pretty much sells itself. The Prius is a great value at entry level and the top of line offers Lexus like features.

If the economy stays the way it does, by mid 2010, the 5th gen will have some incentives, either rebates, low APR financing or leasing. The same situation was with the '09 Corolla. However, Toyota could play it smart and cut production to keep demand up. But given the 4Runner is a main stream vehicle, I don't see them using that approach as they do with the Land Cruiser.

I have driven through the two biggest dealerships here, and haven't seen one yet. Definately keeping my eyes opened tho.

I drove by the VPC earlier last week and didn't see any so they must've just come in.

More than likely the ones with plates are the salesperson training vehicles. You'll probably also see some Explorers, Pathfinders, or other vehicles parked in their lot for comparison. Eventually, those vehicles will probably be sent out to the dealerships as the demo vehicles.

When I picked up my Venza earlier in the year (it had to be shipped from the Big Island), they had 2010 Lexus RXs and 2010 Camrys in the receiving area several weeks before they started advertising them. I think they have an official "start sale" date, so even if they are physically at the processing center, they probably can't sell them ahead of that (or it could be some are already presold).

Pricing may not be as bad as you'd think. I bought my Venza when they were just starting to come in (at that point, Toyota had already slashed production to avoid a glut). I got a pretty good price -- well under MSRP -- even though they had relatively few available for sale.

How do you like your Venza? Kinda like the current look of the crossovers and the power of the 3.5L engines in them.

Kinda hoping the 5th gen will get the V-8 sooner or later. Dreading the day I have to start making car payments again but my newest vehicle is a 2002 and my 99 4runner is layed up in the garage until I fix the ignition switch.

Maybe in a couple of years. :driving:

Don't want to sway too much off topic, but to answer your question, I really like it. It definitely feels different compared to the 4Runner. Not better or worse, just different.

It was a good value too -- lots of features (many of which are also in the 5th Gen 4Runner) for a reasonable price.

The economy will be lucky to hold until the end of the year. We have NOT seen the bottom.

Cutting production doesn't keep demand up, it just limits supply. Of course limited supply tends to keep prices higher, but not demand.

Sure, supply and demand are usually carefully balanced, but it's not like there's going to be a greater demand for new 4Runners because Toyota is making less of them. If anything, fewer available 4Runners will result in less sales because it will be more difficult to match vehicles to their prospective buyers. New vehicles are highly personalized, where a buyer can choose from a variety of colors, options, and even models (Limited, SR5, Trail), so you can be sure that the majority of Toyota dealers will have a decent inventory to choose from once these things start hitting their lots.

There are already all kinds of signs that the economy is beginning to recover. There may be some small bumps in the road to recovery, but all the financial indicators point towards an upward trend. Hell, my house gained nearly 100K in value over the last two months, according to more than one of those real estate tracking websites. The last thing to recover during a recession is unemployment. Once we see that number drop, the economy will have already been well on it's way to a solid recovery.

I have the first one reserved at my local dealer, Wilde Toyota in Milwaukee. They are the largest dealer in the state and supposedly only getting one 4runner each month for the rest of the year.....bummer.

The GM said very limited supply to start and they are only buidling them in limited configurations per region as we all know already:)

Anyway, the first one coming in per my request is a Magnetic grey 4x4 limited, black leather, with nav. I hope the lease prices are competitive this go around, its my 4th 4runner in a row.....my last 2006 SE 4x4 V8 with no money down leased for 3 years at $370/month 15K miles/year.

edit.....its scheduled to arrive the mid-end of October.

OK was at our processing/part's center today and two of the three 2010 4Runners are still parked along the road. Since I spent $300 bucks I didn't feel too guilty walking a few feet to carefully look at the 2010.

My impression: Still undecided. Might grow on me but................

What I observed:

The top of roof width and hood width, viewed from the front is narrower than the latest gen Tacoma parked next to it. So if the 4th gen 4Runner was as wide as the Tacoma this is narrower.

Length looks short but maybe it's because the body looks taller. Not tall in the sense where it will scrape ceilings but meaning same height but lower to the ground.

The two were SR5 models. One in Blizzard Pearl and the other in Black.

Interior looks nice. Somewhat like the 4th gen. Don't like the window control switch on the top of the door panel though.

Liked the Black color of the seat materials.

Wheels look better than the pics but still reminds me of early 90 Chevy truck rims. 17" wheels look small as the tire aspect is 70 versus 65 or maybe cause the sides look tall.

Overall, I'm glad I don't need a new 'Runner soon.

Please don't rag on me as this is my observation and opinion.

Thanks.
