Anyone pick up a 2010 limited yet?

hello all,
i'm new here and just wanted to share my experience with you guys.
just put my deposit down on a 2010 limited at the dealer. (i live in nyc).
msrp was 42,224 including nav. the dealer was only willing to let it go
for 41,000 but he let me have the dealer installed factory remote start for 250, and without destination charges, just tax title license and the tire fee.

what i really wanted was an sr5 with just the premium leather package but the dealer told me leather wont be available on the sr5 or the trail. anyone know if this is true?? on the toyota website the premium leather package is one of the sr5 options. i really hate buying the other stuff that i dont really want because i really want leather. but i've checked 4 dealers and they all told me the same thing. each one so far only had 1 or 2 initial deliveries (no sr5's with leather), and will get a few more in the next few weeks. according to my dealer, the northeast region will receive only 114 limiteds and i'm in kind of a rush to purchase a truck so i cant wait around for an sr5 with the configuration i wanted. i've priced out a pilot EX-L for around 33,000 but that car is just not my cup of tea.

anyone else have a buying experience in the tri-state area? i would really like to hear about it.

the dealer is lying to you. the premium package puts leather on the SR5.
afaik you can't get leather on the Trail…yet, i hope.

Yup Leather will come in the SR5. And I am looking at getting a limited around Dec. I was quoted a price of 500 over invoice yesterday.

I agree that your dealer is either misinformed or misleading you. A dealer close to me (Action Toyota) has an SR5 with leather:

The dealer I went to was located in Northern Maryland. And yes the limited was fully loaded and I was quoted a price of $39,800 before tax and tags. The dealer said they were trying to move them that way Toyota would keep sending them more and more.

I took the plunge today on an SR5. I wanted the premium package on it for the leather, but two different dealers went to look them up and said they have no SR5 trims with the premium package in or coming to the South East area as far as they could see. Also, the premium package requires a $580 radio upgrade, so the total cost is about 2700 (msrp) to get the leather, heat and you also get a blue tooth and usb port. He also said that all of the SR5's in the SE have the cargo tray option, which I didnt need (or want).
Anyway, I paid 32K out the door, that included tax title and tage for a 4x2 sr5 with blue-tooth, cargo tray, power outlets, sport trim fabric, power seats and the fabric is being replaced at the dealer with leather. I was very hesitant about the last part until the sales guy showed me a factory leather Camry and a dealer installed leather, they were identical. The dealer explained that they do 5-10 leather installations a week and the 2 guys who do them came from one of Toyota's port assembly lines and the leather comes from the same supplier that the factories use.
They also added a life time power train warranty serviceable at any certified mechanic
I hope to take delivery within the week, depending on when it gets to them and when they get the leather.

Is that a 4x4 or 4x2 for $39,800?

That is a great price for a loaded 4x4 Limited and would get it in writing.

The dealer invoice for a loaded 4x4 Limited is $40,285. I know because this dealer sells to our company(American Airlines) at a fleet rate of $100 over Invoice.
The catch on that is that they have to have a bunch on thier lot before they sell at fleet rate and would take up to 2-3 months . I can't wait that long and bought it at another dealer that I previously bought from for $42,300 +TTL which was $1200 under invoice and I made them throw in the GAP Ins., Lojac and 6yr/90000 mile extended warranty for financing with them instead of my credit union.By the way both dealerships said they would NOT budge off the MSRP for the Trail Ed.'s .

Here is thier quote and I verified it's pretty close to the invoice price at Edmunds for being all options except 3rd row seating.

I just stopped at a Toyota dealer in ATL near Gwinnett Mall and they had a 4x2 Limited no nav MSRP for $39k. Looked terrific (damn they are big).

I saw a white one leaving for a test drive but didn't catch what it was quick enough. The white one was ass ugly. :repuke:

You have to negotiate the extras with the salesman who works with the sales manager before the finance guy because he does'nt negotiate.He doesn't have the authority, only the sales manager can make the call.The salesman is just the go between.

The extras are what I got for financing with Toyota instead of my credit union .In reality those things help them out as much as it does me since I am low risk(aka old fart) and they actually have the title and own the 4runner til my last payment.I was pre approved already by my credit union for the loan and knew the interest rate that I could get so they had to match.
You have to have excellent credit,a big chunk for downpayment(at least 20 percent) to have some leverage.
It helps that I bought my last 4runner at this dealer and paid it off early, Freeman Toyota in Hurst,Texas.

I saw the first SR5 at my local dealer here today. It was white with beige interior. It had leather but not on the steering wheel and shifter. The sticker did not reflect leather or premium package, which leads me to believe that it too was an aftermarket pre-delivery install.
It look neat as factory, panels and stitching identical to factory seats, but looked a little more ruched on the side bolsters, and did not have the dimpling that that the Limited has. It also tied in exactly with upholstered area of the door panel.

Wonder what it costs? If sport power seat option is $530, and that combined with leather is $2,205, then anything less than $1,675 is a savings, unless you really want the leather steering cover and shift lever. Wrapping a steering wheel isnt a pricey job (from previous experience), so they would probaby throw that in if you asked nicely.

the big catch with leather on an SR5 model is it requires you to have the upgraded radio package. With leather you get motor seats, a USB port, heated seats, an upgraded radio, steering wheel controls and blue tooth (also on the wheel).
Because i got the leather and blue tooth at the dealer, i have the base radio, no heat and my bluetooth is on the middle console, it all still looks factory, just in different places. I do have motor seats because i had the sport seat package before. Im still happy with it as I still have the AUX plug for my ipod. The leather is great, I would have no idea it wasnt factory if I didnt know before hand, the kit type they installed is KAT leather from toyota (I think toyota provides the aftermarket leather to all dealers for the purpose of upgrading). I owe you guys pictures but I am very busy with other things (i picked the thing up almost a week ago and it still only has 17 miles on it, haha)

anyway, no leather on the SR5 is BS, still you could pretend and use it as an excuse for the limited.

LOL, i cant justify spending $5-6,000 more for 20 inch wheels and a nav. but i also dont want to spend $30K+ on a car that doesnt have leather. an sr5 with the premium leather package seems like the right balance for me, even if it forces me to buy that stupid sliding cargo tray. i would get an sr5 with dealer installed leather but i have my heart set on the heated seats. hopefully the sr5's with the configuration i want will be coming out soon.

the leather doesnt force the slide out tray, but it does force a radio upgrade.
I forgot to say i also got the sliding tray, i was planning to unbolt it, but im gonna see if it bothers me or not first.
Also, my dealer offered to do heated seats with the leather, the MRSP was $500 for it, but I declined, i bet if you go in and say leather and heated seats and you got a deal, you will get them for 500-600 more for both (basically at the dealer cost to do it), there has gotta be a high margin on those two items and they are paying mechanics to be on sight anyway, so maybe 400 in materials and 1 hour labor
also, my bluetooth took the spot of the driver side seat heat
anyway, i love the car
