Anyone recognise this winch bar?

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help me identify the winch bar that's in the attached pic. They are pretty common (in Australia at least) on Hiluxs around the place, but not sure what the case is in the states.

More specifically, I'm trying to find out if it'll fit on my 4Runner (1990, IFS). The Hilux in the pic is a 99 dual cab IFS. Hopefully I can identify the bar then I'll be able to find out if it'll fit!

Looks like an old ARB to me. Especially if you're looking at Australian trucks.

Thanks mate - I think I've figured it out. Apparently TJM made some bars for Toyota that were then sold as factory standard gear. This is why the bar looks very similar to some of the earlier TJM bars that are around (see attached pic for those who are interested), but it also explains why there's no TJM branding on it.

I'm still not sure if it will fit though? Some of the guys on my local Toyota Surf tech site are saying it will, while others on other forums are saying that the chassis size on the Hilux changed in 96? Any thoughts?

Look up an ARB bumper for your vehicles year and see what you think. Looks identical.

That bullbar is definitely not an ARB. ARB have never made bars with the center tubular frame like that, they always have sheet steel uprights and a straight section of tube. But, ARB did make OE bars for Nissan and Toyota that were that of design so there is a good chance that it is a Toyota factory bullbar made by ARB. If you can physically inspect it I can tell you something to look for on the inside of the bar that can identify it as being made by ARB.
It could be TJM as you said, and an outside chance of being an ECB. But the diameter of the center tube looks too small to be from them.

Hilux bars will not fit on 4Runners.

You are correct it is a TJM, and yes the Hilux did change in 96, but TJM does offer models for you truck year. Just find a dealer in your area and you will find the TJM-15 you need so it fits properly.
