Anyone Recognize THIS Alarm?

While trying to track down a short, I discovered an alarm in my used 97 4Runner. I am finding lots of things...even a year later, like a Gerber Multitool. LOL
Anyway, I am certain this is an aftermarket alarm (by the install AND the silly valet switch RIGHT ON THE KICK PANEL!)

The picture sucks, sorry, but it just says "MADE IN USA" or something like that and the rectangle is an american flag. The wiring diagram on the other side indicates that ALL the wires are used...they go "somewhere".

So has anyone seen this no-name brain, and here is an idea...would it be possible to just replace it with another brand alarm, and just plug in each of the wires? (Dumb question, I believe, unless sensors and such are generic).

ok, I'll do that tomorrow morning...good idea. I'll take it apart and get some better pics. I took those with the engine running and the dog breathing down my neck. ha.

I looks like and old Excalibur alarm to me. But there were several manufacturers back in the mid late 90's that put there name on each others stuff.

I can tell you that is not a Clifford or Avital. But judging by the main harness it looks like something DEI could have purchased. The harness is very standard for the early to mid 90's alarms.

That gives me a start. I am going to go down and pull it so I can get into it...I KNOW it is somewhat functional because the dash light has always worked. I just have no remote, so who knows. I also don't know if my 4Runner had keyless...my brother's does, and his is a Limited as well, so I would assume it did. It would be nice to finally be able to unlock and lock my doors without the key (especially for my passengers).

if you can find an FCC ID # (which 90% of electronics have on them) i belive you can google it..worth the shot atleast.

If you can find the company who makes it, you can most likely call the company and have them help you narrow down the model number and get you a tech sheet on it.

oh, cool! I believe I DID see an FCC ID #...I will open 'er up again tomorrow and see what I can find. THANKS!
