If you decide to go with a remote start, I'd make sure to get it from a local dealer that you can trust and not a big chain store.
I had a Viper 5701 alarm and remote start installed and had the dealer disconnect the siren. The system also is set to not auto-arm. It took me a while to figure out the exact way i would need the system to work and it is nice to call the dealer and have them fix any problems or custom tune for little or no extra money.
I then recently added the iPhone remote start module to the viper system and no longer carry the key fob. It is awesome to just use the phone to start the car from anywhere. Also, if you get an alarm, you can arm the system and lock your car from anywhere (not just the range of the fob, provided your truck and phone are both in cell service areas). This really helps for those times where you dont remember if you had locked the truck and are now no where near it.
