Anyone replace the breaks yet. @ what mileage?

Just curious with these quirky breaks how long they will last before they need replaced and rotors turned?

Slightly off topic, but my former FJ Cruiser had 87k on the odo and I still had 40% left on the pads. (70% driving on HWY) Unfortunately the computer control for the master brake cylinder and ABS went south, and Toyota wants $2200 + $160 labor for that part so I traded it in for a 4Runner. Best transition I've ever made in my life for comfort and a family of 4. :)
 
I've been told that since I live in an area where they use a lot of salt during the winters that I can expect to have to replace them more often. I live in Syracuse, Ny and we do have some nasty winters and supposedly the salt eats at the brake pads and rotors. It could all be BS, unsure. With this it may depend upon where you live.

Never heard that one and we have pretty bad winters up here. Plus we use salt like it's going out of business.
 
My rotors getting turned for brake shudder right now. My pads are still good at 34k and still have 6mm which should last another 20k.
