I have been reading around and herd many testimonies about people replacing the rear coil with the piggyback saying its better. also a 1.25"-1.5" BL should not affect the ride of ICON should it?
As for the UCA, ICON has the cover over the bearing to protect it from debris (selling point for me). Does camburg offer anything like that?
Rar, Its my DD but i tend to take it off-road in colorado. I wish to be able tackle mid level trails with minor issues. I have no intention of dessert running so i wont have the overheating issue you speak of i think.

I hear you about getting the full set. I didn't want to deter you from getting the ICON's..far from it. just wanted to call out that the cap doesn't keep everything out. If you clean your truck everytime, then you'll be fine. A few drops of Finish Line Dry teflon lube every few months and you'll keep them happy and squeak free.

Light Racing UCA are definitely cheaper. They are sealed so you won't need to maintain them and they won't squeak.

In relation to concerns over weight carrying, our coilovers can be supplied with 700lb springs. This is the most common spring for those people carrying significant weight. Alternatively a 650lb spring works great for the lightly modded truck.

To the OP - sounds like you should go for a 2.0 system that you can adjust from 0-3" of lift. Make sure to purchase a system that is valved correctly for your intended weight carrying and use, otherwise you may find yourself throwing good money after bad.

Try to think long term. Cheaper systems might meet a budget now, but down the track you might find yourself investing in a better setup and that can be frustrating. Also we recommend you consider rebuildable shocks. All parts have a need for some TLC at some stage. Its nice to be able to simply rebuild rather than buy a whole new setup.

Just some thoughts.

I had the rear v2's for less than a year before they started leaking. Also did not like how the digressive valving performed for daily driving over pot holes and speed bumps. Wouldn't buy again.

I have the Icon Stage 1 and I love it. I am sure there are cheaper options-but I don't have much of a background in this stuff so I went with what seemed to be the best.

Only had it a few weeks so have not been off-road much. But great for inner-city rock crawling...and with the terrible roads and construction projects in Dallas there is lots of opportunity for that.

i need some suggestions on this as well... my 05 2wd limited is going to be a pre runner eventually, so what are good mid travel/long travel rear shocks?

i specifically need rear shocks now because currently i have a spindel lift in the front with stock springs and bilstien 4600(i think)... the rear has the same bilstiens but i recently added toytec 2.0 HD springs and i think they are maxing out travel really bad... even the smallest bump i can hear and feel it "thuding" unless i go really slow lol...

It rides MUCH better than the factory ride and has very little body roll, it feels very well planted on the road. I plan on taking it somewhere this weekend off road to try it out

Yes it didn't come cheap (icon kit, wheels & tires) BUT it like getting a brand new car all over again for the price of a down payment.

The folks @ True-line in Bellevue,WA did a fantastic job with the installation, balancing & alignment!

Me right now after waiting so long and finally getting rid of XREAS. it feels better than i thought!

I currently have a Bilstein setup on the front and back, but am using ICON rear coils. I had a lot of weight in the rear at one point (hauling some stuff) and it was great! Smooth ride, however with no weight in, it’s very jarring when you hit bumps. It’s my daily driver and I don’t have enough weight to justify the spring Lisa I bought (my fault)

Toss 50 or pounds of sand bags in the rear like a pickup.

My friend is considering getting Icon CDC for his incoming 4Runner project. He wants a multiple-setting suspension and Icon seems got that quality. We'll just finish installing the hard top, lights, and jeep accessories on the Wrangler this weekend before we can clear the garage before we can take her in.
