Things to think about.
The bigger the wheel: the shorter the sidewall on the tire.
The shorter the sidewall: the harsher the ride, better chance of popping a bead at lower air pressure (won't be able to air down as low), wheels will rub rocks more, cost of tires goes up, harder on the brakes (more weight further out), less options of tires.

I have 18 inch KMC REvolvers on mine with BFG 275/70r18. I love them they look great and ride fine. I have not noticed any difference between those and and factory 16in wheels and tire combos. I do not wheel a ton but again when I have I do not notice and issues. And they look way better!!!! With a 70 sidewall I dont see any difference in sidewall from any other tire. I do have a Toytec Ultimate lift on to accommodate the 33in tires.

jimster: wow there are quite a few cool surfs on that site!

reconcmdr: do you have pics? id like to see how your truck sits on 18s with 33s. also, did you have any fitment issues? body lift? im planning on doing a 3" suspension lift and a 1" or 2" body lift. i already have my wheels and tires squared away, waiting on a lift to slap them on. my wheel setup is slightly smaller than yours. i have 18x9 enkei borgner zx on BFG 285/65/18 which is roughly 32.5".

here's a pic:

Here is my take on the old tire size/lift question.
You should be able to fit the same size tire on the vehicle, with or without the lift. If you do have a suspension lift with enough flex then the tires should fully stuff and would end up in the same position as if on stock suspension. If you rub on stock suspension then you should have rubbing in the same places when lifted. True, it will rub more often on stock suspension. I have over 3" of lift and rub my 265/75-16.

Toss them on and give them a try.

Hi all, :hello:
Here's mine on 9" X 18" Smith racing alloys, zero off-set, 255/55/R18 Pirelli tyres.
Everything else is stock.:)

SS1.2 33x12.5x18 on KMC Badland. Rides smooth, and no rubbing problems off road.
I have another 02' Sports 4Runner and planning to do the same set up when I lift it.
