mines cracked, has anyone found a replacement

or
How could we make a mould of one and cast a fiberglass replacement? Who is the guy on here that has the signature, "master mold maker"?

That'd be slacker.

If I hadn't bought a new truck with a perfect dash :reddance:, I was planning on filling the crack in mine with epoxy and modeling clay, and glassing over the whole thing.

edit to add - over $200? Yuk! Definitely fiberglass, sir.

The master mold maker is Slacker. He would make a good chunk of change if he could duplicate the 1st gen dash.

See my build thread, I did some work to my dash pad. It cracked again but it gives you an idea of what to do. The only thing I would do differently if I had to do it again would be to add a very thin layer of cloth on the top of the dash pad and apply some resin over it. That would give it a new cover that is strong and still conforms to the curves of the dash pad.

I have planned on building these for years and years ... and I will , one day !!
problem is , to reproduce these to a "quality replacement" part , it costs money . right now were at a projected retail price @ $250.00

nobody will pay that , as per our market research , and you guys right here and now , so they are on hold

.

Do it already. I know what I paid for my NOS 2nd-Gen dash pad. 1st's and 2nd's in glass w/ texture and only satin paint would be schweet!

ADVISORY: Skip the plastic glue on cover crap. The fit and finish suck. For that much get a dash pad and ignore it.

Repairing is a utter waste of time b/c it'll recrack within 1000 miles. This one recracked even after we did heavier repairs and spread the stress load out.

NOS sourced out of Japan pre-Tsunami. Our "Official" Toyota Resto Parts Supplier lost a ton of stuff in the following days.

Grey and Blue are RARE anywhere, 1st or 2nd Gens. Same for the rear cargo side panels. I'll just say for the price on that ebay link, I'd get it. It's cheaper than mine was supposed to go for. Luckily the shop owed me big-time and I got it on a sweetheart deal.
