Anyone still loving there XD5 light bulbs??

Not sure if this is the right forum...but was thinking of doing bright/low beam/fogs with the XD5 light bulbs. Anyone still using them? sitll like them? no problems?

also...real quick...whats the difference between HID and those HID light bulbs...I think the XD5's say HID on them...but what does it mean? I thought you had to get some kind of conversion kit to go HID.

XD5 = HID looking halogen bulbs
D2R/D2S = HID bulbs

The difference? connectors + intensity. Real HIDs requires a ballast for each bulb and puts out XX times more light than regular halogen bulb. HID looking bulbs tend to look white whereas real ones are white.

Is there an HID kit I could buy for the 2006 SE? I would assume its only for the low beam headlights...and perhaps the hi beams....but the fogs? I'd need an HID kit for lows...highs and fogs right?

I'm not sure if the bulb is a 9006 on the 2006, but there are different bulb options.

The bulb for the low beams is an H11, just like the projectors in the Lexus GX470 and Acura MDX. The xenondepot kit is a simple install and can be done on the 06 without a problem. I'll be posting pictures and a writeup of the install very soon. Just look on xenondepot's website and decide which kit you want. The most common are 4300k and 6000k. 4300k will give you an OEM appearance similar to other cars equipped originally with HID headlights. The 6000k gives off more of a blue/purple light, with maybe 10-20% less brightness compared to the 4300k. Some people prefer that appearance, and since it's still brighter than the stock halogens, it's not a big deal. I went with the 4300k because I wanted the best lighting performance and the stock appearance.
