I have a 2004 4Runner Limited with an older navigation display that I cracked the screen. It is part # 86120-35241. I have JBL amp, steering wheel controls and backup camera.....all oem, factory installed.
The display number is 17010 (bottom right under screen). I have the separate dvd (maps) in cargo area.
Has anyone changed out their older display for a newer one (E700X) and was able to do so relatively easily, or would this be a nightmare of splicing wires etc? Did the displays really change much over the years or should I just get another 86120-35241....about $550 online for a new one?
My other option is to just replace display but ribbon cable looks like it is tough to reinstall into unit as it goes behind hinged screen.
