Anyone tried any Windshield-Repair kits?

As we all know, the 4th Gen 4Runners are prone to get cracks & dings on our windshields.

I have a "Bullseye" type of chip on my windshield and I was wondering if anyone here have tried it and does it work?? Anyone has pics after repair?? TIA!!

Check with your insurance company, some repair windshields for nothing.

I'd leave the repairs to the pros at the glass shop... most insurance companies will waive the deductible and pay for the repair. Call your insurance company and they likely have a shop they'll guarantee the repair thru... I've had mine repaired twice (still have original glass on my 03 4R) and yes, it works. It won't be perfect and you might see a little spot, but it's not noticible in mine. I went thru SafeLite Autoglass per my ins. co. and they did a mobile repair in my office parking lot. They do work.

I've had it done numersou times on my Tahoe and once on my 4Runner. All fixes were well done and even a good size pop on my Tahoe held up and prevented further cracking. The seal also closes most of the spiderweb lines so your vision is mostly returend to normal.

Just like everything else, some window repair shops are good, some are shoddy. I got lucky and both places I have used were very good.

There are national windwhield repair associations so look them up on the web and see if there are any referrals near you.
