Anyone try Aquapel?

My mechanic suggested Aquapel. For those who don't know:

They had a jar demonstrating half of it treated with aquapel and half not. One could shake the jar and see the results and it does seem to bead right off. Anyone tried it yet?

I haven't tried this yet, but I have used the Rain-X equivalent in the past. Works quite well.. It's worth a try to try Aquapel..

I'm not sure I'm in line with the having an "installer" put it on my windows. I think I'm going to stick to Rain-X unless someone can attest to this being way better.

I have used Aquapel on my other car and have been pleased. It last much longer than Rain-X. (much more expensive too). The best way I can describe aquapel is Rain-X on steriods.

That being said, I don't think I will use it on the 4runner as the windows are already treated.

I just got mine. 10 bucks installed at Firestone. I'll post more when I get into the first storm. (hurricanes coming, shouldn't be long)

I have AAA and a firestone card so extra discounts, but it should be 15 even normally. Installed.

And it lasts 3-6 months? I was told.

Just the Aquapel should be like 10 dollars to DIY.

Aquapel is great! Water beads off, and above 30 MPH you may not need the wipers because the air flow blows the rain off. I can not tell if Toyota's hydrophobic coating on the windshield actually works - Aquapel makes a big difference.

You can apply Aquapel yourself, go to E-bay and search for Aquapel, usually more then one supplier available on E-bay.
