Anyone try putting a 4G spoiler on a 3G?

I wonder how it would look. The shape of the top of the rear gate seems very similar, but I bet the 4G is wider.

The reason I ask is because there is basically ONE option for 3Gs (JAOS), and I don't really like it. 4Gs have a few options, and you can get them much cheaper than the JAOS.

I might be a guinea pig here and try it. Worst case, I have to shave it down in a few spots along the body to fit the contours. Not a huge deal since I'd have to paint it to match anyway.

I would really be interested in how that turns out using a 4th gen. spoiler,I had the same idea also but like you say wonder about the width.Plus I am not brave enough to drill into my hatch !
Here at work I have access to Lexus spoilers off the RX's and might check the fitment of these since I can get one free.
Post up if you try doing this,would be a pretty cool idea.

Yeah your right it is wider, not sure how it would flow with the shape of the car too. I wonder if the dealer would let you try to match it up on the 3G.

Would it be better to try to take out some of the middle rather than trying to shave down the sides?

By shaving the sides I guess I meant only where the spoiler meets the body of the liftgate...not making it shorter. My guess is, it's hollow plastic, and cutting the sides off would be a big problem.

We need someone to measure their stock 4G spoiler (the non hump version) to see if it's even in the ballpark.
