Anyone up for a thermo-electric project?

Hey guys. I bought a hot & cold cup holder some time back (years ago), which was built in to a center console unit. I took it all apart as I have a habit of doing, so I could make a custom unit for the car I had at the time. Then I decided to use it for the audio system I had installed, to keep my audio amps cooler. Well, I sold the vehicle before the project came to fruition. I don't see any thermo-electric projects in my near future, so they are up for sale.

I believe I foolishly paid around $125 for the set up. Of course, the technology was newer then so prices were higher. Now, the thermo-electric modules alone sell for around $13 ea, and of course, the unique illuminated switches, are roughly $10 - $15 ea.

I'll sell it all for only $15 shipped. :bonk:

Interested in this- so are you selling the kit you would need to heat and cool 2 cup holders? any way you can post a pick of the assembly this came from so I can have an idea of what I would be working with? Thanks!

Howdy. Well, I'm not sure if "kit" would be the right word for it, but you will be getting basically what's in the picture, which includes two three-way illuminated switches, two thermo-electric modules, a prewired fan (for the heat sink), and one heatsink which isn't pictured.

These items are all prewired into a harness, which has only two wires to connect for power (12vdc & ground). I don't have the original assembly as I tossed it years ago to make a custom one. Then decided to forgo that with the intention of using these to cool my audio amps. So pretty much what you see is what you get.

With these items, you can make a hot/cold cupholder, you can use it to cool devices, or possibly even keep your center storage box cool like the newer Land Cruisers. I guess it's limited only by your imagination and abilities.
