Anyone upgrading from 6-disc to nav, look here

I am looking to swap dash pieces with someone. I am upgrading to a 6-disc JBL system from the singel disc. I need the center dash console and ac controls from a Sport or SR5 that currently has the 6-disc unit. In return I have the pieces that work with the navigation units. Here are some pics, let me know if you are interested in the swap.

Dont waste your time with a 6disc jbl system. The Scion 6 disc radio/cd/mp3 player is an excellent addition to your vehicle. There are plenty of threads devoted to this topic. May I suggest a search for "Scion"...

The Scion unit will only work with the standard 6-speaker system, not with exisitng JBL systems. Likewise, you can't put a JBL system into a car with the standard 6-speaker system.

PatrickB - Not sure what year 4Runner you have but also keep this in mind. The 2k4 and 2k5 "computer" behind the AC controls is different. If you don't switch out the computer, a trouble light will come on. Make sure to swap that out as well as the "glass" that covers the clock and LCD screen. The "glass" cover is really plastic but it has different cutouts to show the airbag off.

Thats what Prozac and I found out while doing the swap. Luckily he is only a few streets down and he was able to drive to my house to do the swap of the other components.

Good luck with your endeavour and hopefully what I experienced when doing the swap helps. I love my JBL 6 CD Changer BTW

I'm interested in a swap. the only thing is my runner is 03, so we will need to switch out the computer and 'glass' the covers the clock and LCD.

I also have the dual zone climate control, so my 'control switches are different i think. I'll have to take a look to see how different they are.

My last question is why can we just swap the trim piece and not the climate control/computer stuff?

Anyone know how much this whole panel would cost from Toyota or Conicelli? I installed a DDX7015 a few months ago but haven't found time to make a trim ring. I'd rather just get this panel if possible.

That trim piece is $298.58

I haven't seen the AC controls piece from the 6-disc yet, but according to others on here, you need that piece too. It's quite a bit more expensive... $745.18.
