Anyone use a float charger?

Since changing shifts at work, I'm usually in my commuter car, and the 4Runner gets used maybe once a week (or less). Anyone use a float charger for battery maintenance?

Yep. Used them lots for boats and cars that sit without being used often.
They work well.
Just make sure you get a smart one that cycles on and off when needed.

I use them all the time on both autos and toys. I have a couple different ones( all smart ) and they seem to work about the same. Like previous poster said , make sure you get one that in fact has a float/smart cycle. $20-200 doesn't seem to make a difference. Get a battery tender brand if you have the choice. Jmo, Matt

I was looking into some possible way of doing a solar charger system that way I am not stuck with trying to find a source... Check out solar generator u can reverse the idea for a battery maintainer

I personally use a NOCO Genius for my battery maintenance. It is a slow charger/maintainer, and has multiple modes for different battery styles. If you're near the Peninsula, I can get you a good deal on one!

Harbor freight has one and my dad has it hooked up to the main battery on his boat while its on the lift. It works pretty well

I also use a NOCO genius. It's a great little device. In fact, 3 years ago Toyota told me my wife's car needs a new battery. Hooked it up to the charger for a day or two and that battery lasted (without them saying another word) until she wrecked that car a couple weeks ago.

When I was deployed and stored my 4Runner in my father's garage is when I got mine. When I got home he had purchased one for all of his cars he doesn't drive and loves them.
