Anyone use a Thule Atlantis 1800?

Had a look a the "Roof Racks and Hitch Setups" thread and saw one forum member had a Thule 1600 mounted with no problem.

I was wondering if anyone has a Thule Atlantis 1800 cargo carrier and if there's no problem opening the rear hatch?

I should be able to help out with that question as I've got an 1800 that used to be on my Audi but I've not mounted it up on the Runner yet. My first impression would be that it should work without issue because there is a great degree of front-to-back adjustment allowed that you should be able to slide the 1800 far enough towards the front to allow the gate to open unimpeded.

If you ever mount it on your 4Runner please post the results.

The roof rails on these only extend to the middle of the roof, so I wanted to make sure there was enough play to slide it forward enough.

Thule Atlantis 1800.. close, but fits

I purchased and self-installed a Thule 1800 from HumblePower (~$520 delivered).

I have the box installed as forward as possible, and still have clearance.

The box has kept my two boys hockey equipment out of the vehicle, and has been a lifesaver.

Great Tip, I just bought a Thule 1600 from HumblePower. Definitely the cheapest I could find online including the free shipping. Most places want $100 for freight shipping!
