Anyone used a tacoma radiator?

Was about to buy a new denso radiator, prepping for some desert trips and don't want to be overheating with my original radiator. But then i saw these all aluminum radiators for tacomas- would they work on the 4runner as well?

4runner core thickness is 1.25 inches.
Other than that, this product should work. You'll have to swap the trans cooler bar joints.

There are at least 3 different sized radiators for 96-02 4Runners and Tacomas. They should fit one another without issue. You just have to make sure you get the one for your application if you're looking for plug and play. The one you linked is the smallest core size, which factory is 18 5/8 (some say 18 11/16")....but they are normally single row, as is the one you listed. The core is thicker than the normal 16mm (IIRC)....but you can buy one from Rock Auto (OSC brand) that is like 21mm or so. The one you linked is 23mm and doesn't have the plastic top/bottom tanks. Decent price too. If you have the auto trans....that one may not be big enough to keep you cool though. I believe there is some width issues between the two. I would triple check external dimensions if ordering offline.

He may have to change the cap, trim the shroud and overflow tank hose and change the hoses to make it work, depending on what's in his current vehicle. JFYI.

They all bolt in the same holes, even the 2WD tacoma versions. The outlets may be in a slightly different spot, and the shroud bolt holes got moved around a few times as well. If you're willing to mess with finding hoses and running shroudless or locating the right one, I say go for it.

I've bought and installed all 3 sizes in my 3.4L T4R. Just a word of warning (to expound on UnderFire's comment).....outlets in different spots will require different hoses, the caps may be different (largest radiator sometimes takes a different one than the two smaller), the overflow tank hose may need to be shortened/lengthened, the shroud will need to be modified since the 4 cyl and 6 cyl. have different fan locations. If you do a search on Pirate or Tacoma Territory...there are posts on which hoses work best, etc.
